Cut frog?

Have u tried cutting a frog in ur biology class? Heard about it when i was young... but don think it is done now cuz it is too expensize... My terms not good la... so don laugh when i say cut the frog...

hehe I ever disect a frog before. very interesting. First we put the frog in a drum with cottons that are saturated with dunno what solution... formalin ? formaldehyde ? anyway that will render the frog unconscious. Note that the frog is still alive.
Then we take our frogs and place it on the wax platform. Then we proceed to crucifix the 4 limbs down with pins in case the frog wakes up from its slumber. The first incision is always an adrenalin rush. Slowly we cut across the abdomen and pull apart the flaps of skin to reveal the internal cavity. The most interesting part is that the heart is still beating. During the course of the disection, the heart might stop beating, and you can actually resuscitate it by massaging the heart with the blunt part of the scalpel. Do not cut open the heart as you will get blood sprays ! Then we identify the internal organs one by one.
I remember I picked a small frog so it was pretty anesthetized and remained unconscious throughout the procedure. Some of my kiasu friends picked BIG frogs. Their logic is bigger frogs have bigger organs right ? so easier to see mah.... little did they know what they are going to experience later. As you know, bigger frogs need to remain a longer time in the drum to make it really unconscious. But all the frogs were in the drum the same amount of time. So some of the bigger frogs actually WOKE UP during the procedure. They start to writhe slowly and this is terrifying man.... haha....
I also disect a mouse before, but it's no fun as it was a preserved mouse. There's no blood, the internal organs are dried up, it doesn't stimulate the senses. Still very much prefer live specimens. heheheh... yeah I know I'm sick. have fun 'cutting' your frog. -
i got cut froggy before.. cow's eye and played with cow's liver before.. then also a human skull.. all very fun !!! hehehe
