SCDF's DART 'saves' passenger in high-altitude cable car exercise
SINGAPORE: A high-altitude rescue exercise was conducted by the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) on Thursday (Oct 6). The mission: To save a passenger from a stranded cable car cabin.
In a Facebook post, SCDF said that during the exercise, officers from its elite Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (DART) traversed out to the cabin that was stranded between Mount Faber Station and Selegu Tower of the Mount Faber Line.
The exercise, which had been planned to go on from 6am to 1pm, was put on hold on Thursday morning due to bad weather. At about 11.23am, SCDF updated and populated its Facebook page with photos of the live exercise after it was resumed.
According to SCDF, such routine exercises are carried out in close collaboration with Singapore Cable Car.
