1 killed, 5 injured after car crashes into tree on Changi Coast Road
SINGAPORE: A man was killed and five others injured after a car crashed into a tree along Changi Coast Road early Friday morning (Jul 29).
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the accident at 6.35am. It dispatched a fire engine, a Red Rhino, five ambulances and two support vehicles to the scene.
The driver, who was in his 20s, was trapped in the car and had to be extricated using hydraulic rescue tools. He was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
Five other people, all men in their 20s and 30s, involved in the accident were taken to Changi General Hospital. Two of the injured were unconscious, and the hospital was alerted to be on standby to receive them, SCDF said.
