Fire breaks out at coffeeshop off Geylang Lorong 8
SINGAPORE: A fire broke out at a coffeeshop at 281 Geylang Road, off Geylang Lorong 8 on Monday evening (Jun 27). No one was injured in the incident, according to the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).
A Channel NewsAsia reporter on the scene said two Red Rhinos and a fire engine were there at the coffeeshop.
Smoke was seen billowing out of the coffeeshop before the blaze was put out. The smoke could be seen from more than a kilometre away.
According to a Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) spokesperson, SCDF was alerted to the incident at 5.56pm and sent a fire engine, two Red Rhinos, two fire bikes and a support vehicle to the scene.
Using a dry powder extinguisher, an internal hose reel and a mobile foam extinguisher, SCDF officers put out the fire involving the contents of a stall within 10 minutes, the spokesperson said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, SCDF added.
