Fire ravages 7-Eleven shop at Circuit Road
SINGAPORE: A fire broke out at a shop unit at 36 Circuit Road early Saturday morning (Jun 11), said the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).The SCDF were alerted of the fire at 4.45am and sent a fire engine, two Red Rhinos, a support vehicle and an ambulance to the scene. The fire was put out within 10 minutes using a water jet, the spokesperson added.About 20 residents were evacuated by the police, and no injuries were reported, SCDF said.The fire involved contents of a shop, and the cause of the fire is under investigation, it added.A Channel NewsAsia reporter on scene said the fire consumed the 7-Eleven shop and there was extensive damage to the shop's interior, but the neighbouring shops appeared unaffected.- CNA/kk -
