New Jurong Fire Station Groundbreaking Ceremony
This morning, Mr Desmond Lee, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Home Affairs & Ministry of National Development, together with Dr. Amy Khor, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources & Ministry of Health and Member of Parliament for Hong Kah North graced the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Jurong Fire Station.
Commissioner Eric Yap, Commissioner SCDF, together with about 100 senior officials and guests attended the ceremony at the new site between Jalan Bahar and Jurong West Avenue 2
Occupying a land area of 0.4 ha, the new Jurong Fire Station has been designed to achieve the BCA Green Mark Gold standard through the use of environmentally friendly construction materials and water efficient design. (Please refer to Annex A for artistic impression of the building)
SCDF currently has a network of 20 fire stations and 29 fire posts strategically located throughout the island. Since 1975, Jurong Fire Station has a proud history of serving the public on many fronts for the last 40 years and will continue to do so in its new location in 2017.
