Sengkang construction site catches fire; no injuries reported
SINGAPORE: A fire at a construction site in Sengkang sent black plumes of smoke into the sky Friday afternoon (Nov 27). No injuries were reported.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force said they were alerted to the incident near Block 334B Anchorvale Crescent, at about 5.50pm. When SCDF arrived, the flames had already been put out by workers who used several fire extinguishers.
According to SCDF, contents located near a void deck at the site had ignited, causing the fire. SCDF sent two fire engines, two support vehicles, a fire bike and a red rhino to the scene.
A Channel NewsAsia viewer who identified herself as Isabel Chia sent in photos of the incident, saying that she could see smoke from her 23rd-floor unit at Fernvale Road.
