Explosions rocked an industrial district in Tanjong Kling, off Pioneer Road, on Monday (Oct 12) morning.
Workers near the affected plant, Leeden National Oxygen Ltd, said they heard multiple explosions from around 9.30am.
It is understood the company's staff were evacuated to Natsteel's premises opposite the plant.
The New Paper understands at least three workers were rushed to the National University Hospital.
The road leading to the plant was lined with dozens of vehicles from the Singapore Civil Defence Force.

Fire at No. 21, Tanjong Kling Road
SCDF was alerted to a case of fire at No. 21, Tanjong Kling Road at 0930hrs.
Prior to SCDF’s arrival, there was a fire and a few explosions were heard in the premises. The in-house Company Emergency Response Team (CERT) immediately located the fire, conducted evacuation and firefighting operations.
Upon SCDF’s arrival, the fire had engulfed a laboratory measuring about 7m by 5m, in close proximity to a production and storage area.
SCDF immediately deployed four water jets to contain the fire within the laboratory and prevented it from spreading to the nearby flammable cylinders storage area. Concurrently, SCDF personnel equipped with breathing apparatus sets conducted search operations within the premises.
SCDF is investigating the cause of fire.
Details of Injuries
One person was pronounced dead at scene by paramedic and SCDF conveyed 7 casualties to hospitals (5 persons to National University Hospital and 2 persons to Ng Teng Fong Hospital). The nature of injuries range from lacerations, smoke inhalation and burn injuries.
