Body found in Whampoa River

  SINGAPORE: A body was found floating in Whampoa River near block 38A Bendemeer Road on Tuesday morning.

  The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it received a call at just past 9am.

  Its officers arrived about seven minutes later and retrieved the body of a man, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
  
  The SCDF said there were no visible injuries on the victim.
  
  Police said the man was in his 60s. The case has been classified as an unnatural death.
