SINGAPORE - A woman driver was trapped in the wreck of her car for about an hour, as Singapore Civil Defence Officers worked to free her following an accident this morning.
The SCDF received a call about the accident involving a car along Woodlands Ave 12 at about 9.07am.
Upon arrival, the crew found a woman, in her 20s, trapped in the
driver's seat. The front right door was severely impacted inwards, and
the dashboard had caved in, pinning her from the waist down.
SCDF rescuers used hydraulic rescue equipment to lift the dashboard
and separate the driver's seat from the door before extracting her.
A paramedic stabilised the woman while rescue operations were
ongoing. She was sent to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital with a suspected head
injury and fracture to her left leg and right hip.
