SINGAPORE: An early morning fire gutted a warehouse at Defu Lane off Hougang Avenue 3.
No one was injured in the blaze.
In a statement on
Sunday, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said the fire also
damaged an adjoining two-storey office building.
The premises
belong to SEF Construction, a company which provides construction and
interior fitting-out works together with mechanical and electrical
engineering services.
The SCDF said they were alerted to the fire at No. 55 Defu Lane 12 on Sunday at 2.08am.
Three fire engines, two Red Rhinos, five supporting vehicles and an ambulance were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, the fire was raging at the warehouse and at the adjoining office building.
The fire involved timber products and engulfed an area of approximately one football field.
SCDF said its fire fighters contained and brought the fire under control within 45 minutes.
