SINGAPORE - A fire broke out in a lift's tower distribution system at Block 986B Buangkok Crescent last night.
A Singapore Civil Defence Force spokesperson said it was alerted to the incident and arrived at the scene at 9.27pm with two fire engines and one ambulance.
Upon arrival, smoke was seen coming out from the lift shaft and a water jet was deployed.
The fire was extinguished within four minutes, said SCDF.
Firemen then forced open the block's two lifts - one was on the
10th floor and another on the fifth floor - but no one were inside them.
No one was injured during the incident.
