SINGAPORE: An underground gas pipe has leaked at the junction of Sakra Road and Jurong Island highway.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it received a call about a gas leak at 12.18pm on Monday.
Two fire engines and a support vehicle were at the scene within five minutes.
The personnel are now using water jets to suppress the gas leak.
SCDF said there has been no injuries or fire.
The extent of the gas leak is still not known.

SCDF received a call at around 1218hrs reporting smoke seen issuing from the junction of Sakra Road and Jurong Island Highway. SCDF dispatched 3 fire engines, 1 support vehicle (Hazmat Control Vehicle)to the location; The SCDF resources arrived within five minutes.
Upon arrival, there was no sign of fire or any reported injuries. SCDF responders using detectors picked up traces of vapour around the area. As a precautionary measure, SCDF, supported by ExxonMobil’s in-house emergency response team, set up a total of eight (8) large water jets to suppress vapour build-up. SCDF is currently working with the relevant agency to isolate and shut off the leak.
At 1940 hrs, no further traces of vapour were detected by SCDF responders. SCDF has withdrawn its resources from the above-mentioned location and handed over the management of the incident site to JTC.
