A group of off-duty Singapore Civil Defense Force (SCDF) personnel was lauded by STOMPer Mr Aw after they were seen stopping their lorry along the Pan Island
Expressway (PIE) to help three casualties who were involved in an
accident.
The STOMPer wrote:
"My wife and I were
travelling along the PIE towards Tuas. We were driving behind a SCDF
lorry when suddenly the hazard light of the lorry came on.
"We
weren't sure what happened initially so we just switched lanes. That was
when we realized the lorry was stopped at an accident site involving
three motorcyclists.
"We saw about four to five service personnel get off the lorry to help the three.
"As
a former SCDF personnel, I feel proud that these service personnel came
forward to help despite them not being involved in this accident.
"The
group split up to handle different tasks -- one group attended to the
casualties while another went to the back and help to regulate traffic
flow.
"Even though they were not on duty -- or at least they
were, to my belief -- they still came down to help -- this is a sight
that's very pleasing to see.
"Well done SCDF!"
