There used to be a temple around that area in the Seventies, where cremations were held. It was a hilly area then.
As the landscape has changed drastically, I can't place where that temple was.
The reservoir has attracted two confirmed suicide cases, and one probably suicide.
I wonder if the reservoir has that pull.

Body found in Bedok Reservoir again, 5th since June

A body was found in the Bedok Reservoir on Tuesday morning. -- PHOTO: ASIAONEA body was found in the Bedok Reservoir on Tuesday morning. This is the fifth since June.
According to bus driver Yeo Kin Kiat, 53, who was ferrying workers in the area, the police hauled it out of the water at about 7.25am.
The area has been cordoned off by the police.

A body was found in the Bedok Reservoir on Tuesday morning. This is the fifth since June.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), who responded to a call from the public at 7.11am, said the body was found floating about two metres away from shore when they arrived on the scene.
A section of the reservoir bank, directly opposite housing block 717, was cordoned off on Monday morning before the body was removed at around 10.30am.
The body belonged to a Chinese female, an SCDF spokesman added. Police believe the woman to be in her late 50s. They said she was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics at 7.20am. An eyewitness, Mr Yeo Kin Kiat, 53, said the woman was wearing a red top.

I suspect they lost all their savings to casinos...so more people commit suicide. As for why they choose Bedok Reservoir...I dunno yet. Maybe they feel that they are all bodok (malay word for stupid?), cheated by casino, so they go Bedok....

was in the bus today otw to work & spotted an ambulance as well as a pump ladder along Bedok Reservoir Rd..
knew something was not very right when these appliances were spotted..
SCDF press release still not out yet & will post it once it's released..
