SINGAPORE: Fire gutted parts of a factory in Benoi Crescent early Saturday morning.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force said it was alerted of the fire at about 4am. When firefighters arrived at the scene, the storage area was ablaze and filled with thick black smoke.
Seven workers of the factory had already fled to safety.
Firefighters brought the flames under control within 60 minutes, using 21 water jets.
The administrative office of the factory, as well as the neighbouring factories, were not affected by the fire.
The
operation involved about 60 firefighters, five fire engines, four Red
Rhinos, five fire bikes, one ambulance and six support appliances. No
one was injured in the incident.
Investigations are still on into the cause of the fire.
