8 SCDF officers needed to lift 200kg man

  IT TOOK 8 Singapore Civil Defence Force officers to lift a 200kg man - who fell and hurt his leg - into a lorry to take him to hospital.

  But onlookers could only gawk and snap pictures of the injured 34-year-old who had fallen at Teck Ghee Court Market and Food Centre.

  Once during my Spec II ambulance attachment, one of my platoon mates encountered an injured hyperobese teenager on one of his calls.

  It took six people to carry the fella (Fast Response Paramedic, paramedic, ambulance assistant, my friend, ambulance driver, the kid's father).
