Boy falls into large storm drain at Balestier area

SCDF rescuers were spotted combing this large storm drain near Mandalay Road after a boy was reported to have fallen into the water there.
A spokesperson for the SCDF told STOMP at 7.30pm on June 1:
"SCDF received the call at 4pm.
"A boy fell into the drain near Mandalay Road and Minbu Road.
"SCDF personnel are conducting a search following the drain towards Towner Road.
"The rescue operation is currently ongoing."
STOMPer Mark G, who was at the scene of the accident, wrote:
"At approximately 5pm today, there was a team of SCDF officers waist deep in this large drain.
"I overheard from the people gathered there that someone had fallen into the river."
