It was the first time STOMPer Jeff1244 saw an ambulance
that needed rescuing -- this ambulance was apparently stuck on the
grass patch at the void deck of the HDB flat after coming to the aid of
an old lady.
The STOMPer recounted:
"At around 8pm yesterday (Jan 9). I was amazed to see that this ambulance was stuck on the wet soil.
"I
heard that there was an old lady lying down on a stretcher with some
other accompanying medical equipment at the void deck while she waited
for another ambulance.|
"At first the red color Civil Defence car
tried to help by pushing the car backwards while one guy inside the car
reversed but the attempt failed.
"In the end they called for a
tow truck that came at around 11pm and the ambulance was finally rescued
from the grass patch an hour later.
"People clapped after it was rescued.
"The objective to rescue people became to rescue the ambulance..."
Another STOMPer, Hasty Decision, also added to the account:
"An ambulance driver made the wrong decision when he decided to mount the kerb to fetch a sick old lady at Bukit Merah View.
"Instead of 'rescuing' the old lady, they ended up being the one that needed to be 'rescued'.
"The driver later took out the sign '122' from the ambulance so that people would not know which division they are from.
"'122' is the Alexandra Fire Station.
"Because of a hasty decision, the old lady is compromised and taxpayers' money was wasted by calling in the tow truck."
