Fire breaks out at Hougang Ave 3 flat

A fire broke at a fourth floor flat at Block 20 Hougang Ave 3 at about 12:15pm. The fire involved the contents of a bedroom and firemen brought the blaze under control within ten minutes
A resident who lives nearby, sent in this picture and told STOMP:
"We saw the smoke at about 12:45pm and there was a fire engine which arrived at the scene.
"The fire was put out pretty quickly."
STOMP contacted SCDF and a spokesman said:
"SCDF received a call at about 12:15pm and the fire was at a fourth floor unit at Block 20 Hougang Ave 3.
"The fire involved the contents of a bedroom.
"We dispatched one fire engine, one red rhino, two fire bikes, two support vehicles and one ambulance.
"The resident of the unit evacuated before SDCF arrived. The woman was examined by paramedics and refused conveyance to the hospital.
"SCDF brought the fire under control within 10 minutes and is investigating the incident."
