Hey guys, so i got enlist to SCDF on the 14th December 2010 and i've got some questions.
What is PesBp training like? Is it very tough? I broke my knee 3 years ago and it was quite severe, went to hospital, had surgery and stuff. When the MO in CMPB ask about my knee i told him everything and he said he will send a letter to the hospital requesting for documents about my knee, and gave me PES D in the mean time. 2 months later, received letter that i was PesBp, how is this possible?
I've got very minor asthma, i fracture my collar bone before which wasn't too severe, and the knee is the worst. How come i still PesBP? I've got friends with small problems like maybe asthma or abit of back problem and they get posted to Pes C.
Don't get me wrong, i really want to use the training to lose as much weight as i can, but i also am worried about my leg, i don't want to put too much into it and injure it again. As it is, i can't even kneel down and put pressure on that knee, it will hurt. So is there a way to just enlist under Pes Bp first, then train for abit and see if i can take the training, if i can't am i allowed to request to down Pes?
And do i need to bring any of the medical documents down to prove it to them? Am i able to request for spare documents from the hospital? I'm not sure if i still have them at home.
Thanks, and anyone else enlisting on that day? Mine is at 11am.
Oh and i read in one of the topics, someone said something about CD got no confinement period, is this true? Means i go in tuesday, i'll be out on friday?

A: During my intake, the Pes BP recruits will mostly head to CDA for their aqua exercise but there may be changes & with regards to your Pes status, feel free to look for the MO on your day of enlistment.

A: Yes, please bring supporting documents with you on your day of enlistment

A: Yes, there's no confinement (e.g book out on the same week) unless you're on guard duty.
Kindly refer to the bolded answers in the above quote with regards to your questions..
oh right, and for a secondary school dropout, what kind of vocations can i expect? what are the some of the better vocations that i could aim for?
EDIT : i read that cigarettes are barred from being brought into camp, does this mean that i won't be able to smoke for the 4 days (tuesday-friday)? thats harsh. lol.

if your eyesight is not that bad then you can be selected to be a firefighter..
but you'll still get to choose in terms of 1st option, 2nd option & so-on..
for the smoking part, it all depends & my advice to you is "do what you want but just don't get caught" (disclaimer: I'm not encouraging you to smoke when I say that)..
oh yeah, what about tattoos? i've got afew right now which are incomplete and wont be able to be completed before i enlist. i've heard that you can be charged if you get a new one in the army, what about cd? it's sort of visible on the arm, will i get charged?

during my time, I ever saw recruits with tattos but not that I know that they were charged..
ask your platoon sgts when you're enlisted..
so what's the daily routine like in brtc? do they train us all day everyday?
during my time, the pes bp guys will mostly head to the pool over at CDA for aqua exercises..
there might be changes to the system now but their main goal is for you guys to shed some weight..
how many hours a day is training usually?
oh and for someone with no o and n levels, what are some vocations that are available? i know that all the good stuff like FFS and ERS are all prohibited now. What about medics and stuff?

In NS itself, your basic training (BMT/BPT/BRT) will be much longer than the usual.
This gives you more time to lose weight and get fit in a safe manner.
Would strongly advise you to aim for the medic course as I was once an ambulance medic as well but then again its not for the faint hearted..
Hey aisforadam! sorry this reply comes kidna late but im on the same boat man! Going there on 14th december also.
PES BP will be going to Delta Company. don't worry, the training here is not damn teruk.. mostly will do Physical Training in BRTC but some training will go to CDA too.
first two weeks no training because these two weeks is enlistment week. training starts 3rd week onwards.
If you have medical History cases, bring the doc. letter and go to Medical Centre on the enlistment day.
CD bookout timing..
every Friday at 5pm (even on enlistment week)
CD Bookin timing..
every Sunday at 8pm (must be at your company line by 7.30pm)
Your company line will be at outside Detention Barrack and Dormitory block staircase
10 more days to enlistment..
dammit 8 more days, going to be 7 in a few hours. and yeah EW26 Lakeside, my friend told me pretty much the same stuff. if i dont manage to bring the medical documents on time on the first day of enlistment, i will still be able to hand it in on another day right?

1 more day left..
thanks for counting down for me guys lol. anyway, would just like to clarify again. i don't think i will be able to get my medical documents for my knee on time. will there be some kind of medical screening or interview on the first day where i can let whoever in charge know of my injury?
