A fire, which started behind a wanton noodle restaurant in Joo Chiat,
startled residents last night (October 21). The fire was near cabinets
usually used to house gas cylinders.
Fortunately, the fire was quickly put out in less than 30 minutes.
STOMPer Jonathan says:
"At about 10:50pm, a gas explosion occurred behind Fei Fei Wanton Noodles shop house restaurant at Joo Chiat place.
"Fire was put out at 11:15 pm".
A spokesperson from SCDF says in response:
"SCDF received a call at 10:53pm.
"We despatched one fire engine, two Red Rhinos, one fire bike, one ambulance and two supporting vehicles.
"When SCDF arrived, flames were seen around the cabinet which is usually used to house LPG cylinders.
"The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
"It was put out in 20 minutes using two water jets.
"No one was injured".
Luckily no one was hurt.
wrong wrong, the fire broke out at 10.30pm, and was put out around 11.30pm...
fire engines came 10mins after broke out...
