SINGAPORE : Building friendly ties among fire fighters and rescue teams in the region was the objective of the 16th Civil Defence Skills Competition on Friday.
Personnel from Singapore were joined by teams from Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Macau, Hong Kong, Brunei and the Philippines.
Together, they enthralled the audience with a display of skills, teamwork and strategy under simulated crisis scenarios.
But it was not all about showing off skills. The friendly competition also provided a platform for officers to get to know one another.
As part of the event, elite rescue teams from the region also had a
chance to share training methods and information about specialised
equipment.
