Two injured in fire at temple in Yishun

  SINGAPORE : Two people were injured after a fire broke out at Sree Maha Mariamman Hindu temple at Yishun Avenue 3 on Sunday afternoon.

  The Singapore Civil Defence Force received a call about it at around 3.30pm and the fire involved contents of a laundry room at the temple.

  "SCDF was alerted to a fire incident at the 251 Yishun Ave 3 at 1529 hrs this afternoon. SCDF arrived within 6 minutes of call and immediately conducted firefighting operations on level 1 and search operations at level 2. Fire was confined to a launderette and kitchen area approximately 25m by 5m in area at the rear section of the building on level 1. Fire was brought under control within 15 minutes with 3 jets. The cause of fire is being investigated."
