HEAVY rain on Saturday morning caused a tree to fall on a taxi in Alexandra Road, near Alexandra Hospital, trapping the driver and a passenger in in the cab for about 20 minutes.
They got out after Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) officers cut the branches with a power saw.
The SCDF said it received a call at about 10am and that no one was hurt in the incident.
Checks with national water agency PUB and the National Parks Board revealed no floods or other incidents of fallen trees on Saturday.
Late morning and early afternoon showers with thunder are expected for the next three days.
