The Singapore Civil Defence Force or SCDF were involved in four rescue operations caused by this morning's heavy downpour.
SCDF personnel evacuated 18 children and seven adults from a flooded
childcare centre at Telok Kurau Lorong G.
A flash flood at the junction of MacPherson Road and Kampong Ampat also
left a taxi stranded on the road.
Two men in the taxi were rescued by SCDF officers who had to open the
doors manually.
The intense rainfall also resulted in fallen trees islandwide.
A huge tree fell onto two vehicles on the northbound CTE towards Yishun,
trapping its occupants.
The SCDF said two people were injured and were sent to Tan Tock Seng
Hospital.
Over at Kampung Bahru, towards Keppel Distripark, a fallen tree led to another two casualties, who were conveyed to the Singapore General Hospital.
