A fire has broken out at People's Park Complex at Chinatown.
Officers from the Singapore Civil Defence Force are currently at the
scene.
Eyewitnesses told MediaCorp they spotted the blaze at close to 4p.m,
engulfing the 4th and 5th floors of the building.
People have been evacuated.
It's not yet known if there are injuries.
Police have cordoned off the area.

Lucky fire never spread...if not, we can say BYE to this old complex...Kudos to SCDF once again!!
Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was alerted of the fire at about 3.30pm.
Two fire engines, two Red Rhino fire trucks, three support vehicles and an ambulance were deployed.
Inside so crowded and so many people. No wonder will have fire....

Aftermath of People's Park Complex fire leaves tenants fuming
SINGAPORE : Several shop owners and tenants of People's Park Complex are fuming in the aftermath of Wednesday's fire.
Water used to put out the fire is now dripping from the ceilings
of the third and fourth floors leaving shop owners directly below the
scene angry.
They said the building management is not doing enough to help them.
The building management has declined comment.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force was alerted to the fire at about
3.30pm on Wednesday.
Firefighters put the blaze under control in about 45 minutes.
It was contained in a storeroom on the fifth floor
No one was injured in the incident.
