May anyone help? Before SCDF Appliance numbers are assigned according to Stations (ie, PL011, RT 011 ...), How are they identified or assigned the numbers on appliance vehicles? Thanks.
dont understand ur question.
Sori for any inconvenience.
Earlier my query: Previously SCDF (or during Singapore Fire Services era), how vehicle id are allocated as it appears then Fire-Fighting Appliances were given "permanent" numbers on the vehicles (ie, PL54, PL55 etc) instead of being linked to Division, Station & appliance no. (for example, Pumper 1 of Central Fire Station would be PL111 etc). Hope its clearer.
Last time, SCDF used to number new Pump Ladders, Ambulances as they came in to join the fleet.
Like in 1997 there was these few,(Pump Ladder) PL55, PL56, PL57, PL58..etc , (Ambulance)A28, A29, A30, A31......
Then in 2000, new Ambulances came in as A50, A51, A52, A53, A54.....
But in 2003/2004??, SCDF did away with all those numbers and started wz the Divison number codes.. Like Stn11= PL111, Stn22= PL221...
*Just a note, HongKong Fire Services is still going by old way of numbering new Pumpers & Ambulances as they join in the fleet*
