A fire broke out at a manufacturing plant in Joo Koon Crescent in Jurong earlier today.
The plant, which is owned by mainboard-listed Ellipsiz, caught fire at about 12.30 this afternoon.
According to a MediaCorp Hotline caller, Mr Chen, thick black smoke was seen coming out from the plant.
"I saw alot of smoke, very heavy smoke, one from the wash shop, beside my company wash shop about two or three wash shops away, far away,... then can see the smoke, very heavy smoke, then must stand far, far away."
The Singapore Civil Defence Force sent two fire engines, two fire bikes, one Red Rhino and an ambulance to the scene.
A 53-year-old finance manager suffered smoke inhalation and was conveyed to the Singapore General Hospital.
SCDF officers put out the fire, which occurred in the plant's clean room, in 15 minutes.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
