Oil tanker overturns near Singapore Expo, spilling diesel
SINGAPORE : An oil tanker overturned at the junction of Upper
Changi Road East and Xilin Avenue on Saturday evening, leaking some of
its diesel cargo on the road.
Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) officers responded to a call
shortly after 5pm and found the driver sitting by the roadside, with a
slight abrasion on his right knee and bruises on his palms.
As a safety precaution, the SCDF officers sprayed foam on the spillage to prevent the spilt fuel from igniting.
Special chemical absorbents were used to surround the spillage to absorb and contain the spill.
The driver was sent to Changi General Hospital and was given outpatient treatment. - CNA /ls
