SCDF to sound Public Warning System on Monday
SINGAPORE: To boost familarity with the Public Warning System,
the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) will be sounding its
"Important Message" signal on Civil Defence Day, September 15.
The signal is characterised by a series of pulsating blasts and
will be broadcast at 12.05pm through the Public Warning System sirens.
Two other signals will also be sounded – the "Alarm", which are loud wailing blasts; and the continuous "All Clear" signal.
The SCDF said upon hearing the sirens, the public should tune in
immediately to local FM radio stations to learn more about the
different warning signals and their related emergency procedures.
More information can be found online at www.scdf.gov.sg or through the Civil Defence Emergency Hotline at 1800-286-5555.
