SINGAPORE: A fire broke out at a shophouse along Serangoon Road early Friday morning.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it received a call at about 6.15am about a blaze at a two—storey unit at No. 620 Serangoon Road.
The fire was confined to a one metre by three metre area on the ground floor of the signage shop. Equipment and materials were burnt. The blaze was put out within three minutes.
An employee who was staying in the shophouse managed to escape unhurt. Four people were also evacuated from a next—door unit.
A Chinese woman in her 40s was sent to the Tan Tock Seng Hospital for observation. — CNA/yb
