SINGAPORE: Fifteen people were evacuated from their homes Monday afternoon when a fire broke out at Block 111, Toa Payoh Lorong 1.
A woman in her 40s had to be sent to the Singapore General Hospital for shock. No other injuries were reported.
The fire was contained to one of the units on the third floor, affecting the living room and one of the bedrooms.
Officers from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) put out the flames in 15 minutes.
As a precaution, residents on the third and fourth floors were evacuated but have since been allowed to return home.
The SCDF is investigating the cause of the fire. — CNA/ac
