PM Lee updated on SCDFÂ’s latest developments
SINGAPORE: Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong visited the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) Academy on Tuesday afternoon.
He was updated on the latest developments and operational capabilities of the Singapore Civil Defence Force.
Among the state-of-the-art facilities is a specialised vehicle that is aptly named Â’Station With Immediate First Aid TreatmentÂ’ (SWIFT).
It takes just two men to set up the station and severely injured casualties can be treated within five minutes.
Mr Lee was also briefed on SCDFÂ’s overseas rescue and humanitarian missions following natural disasters.
More than 40,000 people from Singapore and overseas were trained at the SCDF Academy last year. — CNA/so
