Enlistment on 8th January 2008

  Hey anyone is enlisted on the same day as me? Just wondering, how does the ranks in SCDF differ with ranks in the Army? And are there OCS and SISPEC courses in SCDF?

  Army got alot of ranks. 1st sergeant, 2nd sergeant, 3rd sergeant etc.
  
  SCDF more shortcut. Sergeant means sergeant.
  
  yes, its called BOC: Basic Officer Course, and ERS: Emergency Response Specialists.

  haha thanks for your reply! so anyone is within that period of time enlist? does education level play a part in any aspects? like prospects of getting higher ranks, enlistment date etc.

  Still a long way to go before your enlistment & enjoy all you can as a civilian but I'll start a countdown when it gets nearer

  Hey! I am enlisting on the same day too.
  
  However, i am graded as PES C1L2 Soldier.
  
  Reason : I think is due to seasonal hearing problem on one of my ear but i didnt even notice it till the checkup at CMPB but it isnt affecting my daily life at all
  
  Any chance of me upgrading to a normal PES B because i do not lack in fitness and other things from a normal person. What are the vocation i am likely to be allocated.

  ya lor. used to harbour the conventional view that mostly malays and indians would get selected into SCDF only. until i got chosen too. was pretty surprised nonetheless. but think it's a rather good option! can't wait!

  Hey, Nice to meet you. However i doubt we will be in the same group due to different PES status. However i am keen to be upgraded because in my medical letter, i am EXCUSED from nothing. -.-

  Weekdays are usually stay in though during BRT.
  
  We will book out on friday and book in sunday.
