Channel NewsAsia - 1 hour 18 minutes agoHawker seriously burnt while trying to put out fireSINGAPORE: A 44-year-old man, who tried to put out a fire at his fishball noodle stall on Sunday afternoon, got both his hands and body burnt instead.
Civil Defence officers were called in to Block 19 at Ghim Moh Road, just before 4pm.
Preliminary investigations showed the fire was caused by an overheated electronic cooker in one of the stalls.
The stall-owner had tried to put out the fire but got burnt instead.
Officers said the man suffered second degree burns to nearly 30 percent of his body and was sent to the National University Hospital.
