erm. The driver had minor injuries.Originally posted by SMRT Buses:Seriously, those caught drink driving should be severly punished as there's lots of cases recently...luckily no one was injured during the time of accident & most importantly no patient was onboard the Alpha at that time of accident
Actually to me, the warnings are more than audible & to some people, they are complaining that its too noisy but I think the control for the sirens can be arranged in a more "reachable" wayOriginally posted by Pitot:driver hit the windscreen right?
our ambulances and rescue vehicles should be fitted with more audible warnings and perhaps change the way they operate the sirens.
any idea what are the systems that SCDF is using now?Originally posted by SMRT Buses:Actually to me, the warnings are more than audible & to some people, they are complaining that its too noisy but I think the control for the sirens can be arranged in a more "reachable" way
QX4943A.Originally posted by SMRT Buses:Wonder which spare Alpha did ComfortDelGro gave Tampines FS
Ya man, my station used to have the QX4000 series & it gave so many problems...from my personal point of view, the servicing ought to be done by the agent & not ComfortDelGroOriginally posted by QX5216J:QX4943A.
one of the older alpha. Ex-"perm" on Station 11's fleet untill it keep on breaking down for more than 3times on a ROTA.
The horn & all the siren controls are way below the front matra system & in my opinion, it should be placed somewhere more "user friendly"Originally posted by Pitot:any idea what are the systems that SCDF is using now?
the latest MB Sprinter 416 CDi doesn't breakdown that easily.Originally posted by SMRT Buses:Ya man, my station used to have the QX4000 series & it gave so many problems...from my personal point of view, the servicing ought to be done by the agent & not ComfortDelGro
it looked like this... from an view in the ambulance (Alpha 221 & Alpha 225)Originally posted by Pitot:any idea what are the systems that SCDF is using now?
It all depends on how ComfortDelGro service the alphas, somewhat they can be improvedOriginally posted by QX5216J:the latest MB Sprinter 416 CDi doesn't breakdown that easily.
but the MB Sprinter 413 CDi (QX4499-QX4950), has a GOOD record of breaking down. Once, i was visiting my encik (from PAB) at SGH. QX4943A brokedown outside the SGH's Bus stop.
I doubt is drink driving but rather some inconsiderate motorist who didn't signal or just cut into the lane suddenly but then again, I know of some "F1" alpha drivers myself & its obvious why I said gave the nick F1Originally posted by HKFS88:
Not again!! SCDF Alpha in accident! What's with these drivers on the roads? Drunk Drving once again!
From what i heard of:Originally posted by SMRT Buses:I doubt is drink driving but rather some inconsiderate motorist who didn't signal or just cut into the lane suddenly but then again, I know of some "F1" alpha drivers myself & its obvious why I said gave the nick F1
damn! i've never been inside the latest alphas (A221). my experience is always with those like A225. A225 is the spare alpha in station because of its bad condition eh?Originally posted by QX5216J:it looked like this... from an view in the ambulance (Alpha 221 & Alpha 225)
The NEWER Alpha (A221)
The Older Alpha (A225)
Well, A221 is based at Changi FS (Stn 22) & almost everything is gd for the lastest type of alphas except is rear height which is very high & the lowering mechanism of the rear suspension for this always spoils very fast therefore we never use it & not forgetting the step that automatically opens when the side door is opened which also fails...Originally posted by surferpunk:damn! i've never been inside the latest alphas (A221). my experience is always with those like A225. i thought the HQ stopped using the side step due to safety concern on the road..Originally posted by SMRT Buses:Well, A221 is based at Changi FS (Stn 22) & almost everything is gd for the lastest type of alphas except is rear height which is very high & the lowering mechanism of the rear suspension for this always spoils very fast therefore we never use it & not forgetting the step that automatically opens when the side door is opened which also fails...
