Need Help! Got Enlisted into SCDF!

Hi Guys, i just received my enlistment letter today and i got enlisted into SCDF! OMG
i'm enlisting on the 10 July. I'm so confused and lost now since there's not a single one in my whole family side that is in SCDF and non of my schoolmates are in SCDF too~ I seems to be the only one... I'm PES C9L2.
Erm... any tips for me before going in? What do i need to bring besides my highest qualification, NRIC and Bank Book? The letter ask me to bring along toiletries but it doesn't state what are the things i need to bring... can you guys give me some tips please? Can i bring the photocopy of my highest qualification? if not, will i be able to pass it back to my parents before they go off that day? i'm afraid i may lose my Cert and Bank Book...
What is the situation like on that day? can anyone briefly tell me? So that i won't be clumsy or panic on that day? Do i need to have a better haircut before i go there? or i can just leave it? We are going to be botak like those in army rite? *Piss* Can bring HP inside? If i'm PES C9L2, what are the Vocation that i will probably get? I heard people asking about ERS, whats ERS?

Well, dont worry about being the only one enlisting into the SCDF. Non of my family members were in the force too. Dad was a commando, Uncle was a pilot for the RSAF and another uncle in the navy. Why would they ask you to bring in a cert ? I didn't have to during my time.. Well as for toiletries, the basic stuff you use at home. Don't need me to list it down here right ? Put your face mask and crap like that at home. Won't be needing it there. About the cert, i'm sure someone else that just enlisted can help you.
Situation on the day ? Nothing much to worry about. Just alot of talking and collection of uniforms and stuff. Yes, i would suggest a haircut. During my time, we got our haircut at 11am and we couldn't shower till 6pm. YOu don't want to be walking around with all the hair behind your back eh.
Pes C9L2 ? Don't worry, i don't think you will be an ERS or going to the FFC. Most prob a clerk, storeman or a driver.. Best among those 3 voc, be a clerk in a Fire Station ! -
Oh yeah, i don't think you can bring in a cell phone unless rules have been changed. Can't bring in no Ciggies too.. Can't smoke in the SCDF, thats during your 1st week.
If you do smoke, you'll learn how to in the force. -

Hmm... i dun smoke so i think i'm okay with that~ but dunno if i can bring in cellphone... So... what do we learn in ? BRT actually? If you are C9L2, you might not even have to go through BRT, i had a friend that went to CDA right after enlisting and became a clerk.
Well, BRT is stands for basic rescue training. There you'll learn basic fire fighting, learning on how to use power tools, basic 1st aid, etc etc.. -

Take it as an adventure. Ok, its easy for me to say this since I have ORDed but it is in fact the most effective way now that I think about it.
Just go in and use common sense and you will be fine. PES C9 means no ippt for you and the training will not be tough at all. Most likely you will be posted to a "non-combat" voaction in terms of SCDF. Feel your way around and you will be fine. -
Is there any particular things i ned to take note of before i go in? Last time i heard alot of things about SAF since my brother is in SAF but now since i'm posted to SCDF and everyone ard me is not posted there... i'm kinda like have 0 knowledge about it~

don't bring your cert lor, say you cannot find it. then go and ask them why they need it.
anyway still dun understand why they need pple to bring cert for ns

Hey Joeacid... I oso 10 july enlistment... I oso C9L2 but temp for 6 mth leh... Donno later kena upgrade pes or wat sia..

go with an open mind and take those lessons seriously n take watever punishments u received take it as training to build ur fitness and mental.

How differnt is the training for pes c recruit? I know we nvr kena the ptp la. Straight to the 7 weeks BRT. Is the training same as the pes a&b batch.??
