SINGAPORE: The body of a woman was found near the Singapore River on Thursday morning.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) received a call before 5am and dispatched its emergency teams.
The officers searched the water and the coastal areas.
And just before 8am, they found the body of a 26-year-old woman floating near the river banks, close to the construction area of the Marina Bay Integrated Resort.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have classified the case as an unnatural death.
In separate incidents on Thursday morning, the SCDF managed to rescue a 39-year-old woman from the Kallang River by using a life buoy and rescue lines.
And at Boat Quay, members of the public helped to pull a 20-year-old man out of the water.
Both of them have been sent to the hospital for treatment.
