I'm a former fire fighter now the pay package for nsf fire-fighter with no rank is abt $790. per month. But u must pass your H.R.C.T. (Hazmat response certificatioin test) and IPPT Being ERS is good but the work load is heavy!!!
The fireman training is really siong. If let say u can't pass ur IPPT, then u join fireman trainig. You would be surprise that at the end of the day you will get silver!! HA ha! One of the instructor at CDA is Encik Salimin he is a bit crazy. He is also a DART member. And also being a fireman is that you must do alot of fire and rescue drills. You must be also highly diciplin. -

Hi Ben..which intake were u from...why u say charlie company the slackest? Btw villan u can ask me any qn u need to know about BRT and camp life...nobody is as qualified as me to ans cos i'm a platoon sgt there last time

i hava sum qns to ask...
1) Is the PT during BRT siong? (Army hav 5BX...wat abt BRT?)
2) Can mono intake to SCDF hava a chance to be an officer (or izzit senior NCO? Coz i noe last time dey chose da officers frm BMT 1...but now even da OCS system change oredi...mabi da SCDF 1 will oso change?)
3) Do we hava choice as to wat vocation we want? Or dey will assign to us according to our performance during BRT?
4) Do SCDF hav emart like da SAF does? (coz i dunno go where to buy xtra SCDF PT shirts...heard dey oni giv 2 pt shirt)
5) Does we(recruits) havta do guard duties or kena xtras during BRT like in Tekong where sum havta stay there during wkend?
6) The swimmin test izzit 50m breastroke? or can use oth styles like freestyle?

[b]Well, if im not wrong, we are the only org still using the log PT.

All of our officers are from the army's OCS. So chances of going into BOC of scdf from BRT is quite rare.

During your BRT, you'll have basic rescue proficency test , basic 1st aid, blah blah.. So chances of becoming a fire fighter, ERS, etc etc, u got to do well in your rescue tests..

No we don't have an Emart like the SAF. If i'm not wrong, beach rd sells those PT shorts.

I have never seen anyone signing extras during my time but im sure they have it !

LOL ! Our swimming lessons r quite dumb.. Most of the time, the PTs will make u do pumping n all there.. Don't remember swimming much !

Btw, it's not ambulance worker.. For NSFs, they are called Ambulance medics -

2)Chances of being officer is very slim in scdf... My PC said that only the top 2 from ERS will be send for BOC...
3)U can let ur PC know about ur interest in the vocation and they will recommend u if u meet the requirements for it.... but its only a recommendation...
4)U will be given 4 PT shrit
5)Yes... There's extras and guard duty.... Usually guard duty on wkend are those that signed extras... else u will be doing it on wkday...
6)Is 50m frogstyle only.... No other styles...
