Anyway, anyone knows how many stages are there before we get confirmed? If AD dialogue is not part of the second stage, does it mean that there is a separate stage of AD dialogue? This would mean a longer wait :(
Hi @yamihami and @mavislee
I also just received notification to go 2nd stage on 24th May. In the email it states the dialogue session will consist of psychometric test and verification of docs. It sure seems like there's no interview. Duration is half day. Anyone that has recently passed 2nd stage can shed a clearer light on this?
Thank you.

Hi @yamihami, @noel.91 and @mavislee,
I too received the email for the 2nd round of interviews today. However likewise, no dialogue session was mentioned inside the email. Just verification of documents and the psychometric test.
If anyone of you gets hold of more information on this, please share!
Likewise to anyone reading this post / thread! Help is definitely much appreciated from seniors etc! :)

@mavislee @noel.91 you guys got 24th May for your psychometric test? Hmm?? I got 23rd haha. So they are now holding the test on tuesday and wednesday..
@mavislee @noel.91@Jephtath Yeah I emailed the guy who sent us the email, he replied saying "As our recruitment process has been changed, there will be no AD Interview for the 2nd stage. It will only be verification of documents and psychometric test."
You guys can try to email the guy and ask him too to double confirm :D
@yamihami probably the grouped you together with those who applied in mid to late Dec. Wow then there will probably be three more stages (excluding psychometric test) to go before the medical checkup? OMG.
@mavislee yeah 3 more stages before medical. I just hope that I dont have to wait 2 months again during each interval T.T
@yamihami I did email them to ask how long will the wait be between the stages. They didnt commit and replied that they are clearing a lot of applicants.
@mavislee yeah that's what they told us during my SA. Thay they have alot of backlog of applicants
@yamihami I see. Anyway I looked through all the posts made in this forum to have a sense of the timeline. Those who applied in Dec 2015 and Jan 2016 went for panel interview in April 2016 and May 2016. In short, you are very right that our wait is much longer than them cos we are not even halfway through even though it has been more than 5 months since we submitted our applications. I wonder if those who applied between July to Nov 2016 are still waiting for their panel interview. If they are still waiting, this probably means they are really cutting down heavily on recruitment.
Hi all!
Noticed there're lots of replies here on SPF SPO but very little on other home team positions. Are there by any chance other threads for the others or are they all here? I'm keen to join SPS as SPO (Senior Prison Officer). I just got back from the Home Team Show and Festival 2017 but realized I forgot to ask a lot of things. If y'all are able to reply, kindly advice! :D
1) There are 2 entry ranks for SPO: ASP1 and RO1. How do their jobs differ?
2) How does the interview process go? I've only ever seen one by @anyhoow stating as followed:
(Reporting 8.30am, finish around 12.15pm)
- Document check
- Height and weight
- Colour blindness test
- Situational based MCQ in a conference/meeting room
- Video screening on SPO responsibilities
- Mass dialogue session
- Intro and why you want to join SPS and relating your current job to the position
- Open question to share opinions.
In essence, I'd like to know if they did miss out anything. Because I feel confident looking at these? ^^;;
3) I've noticed in this thread the occasional mention of superificial body check for tattoos for interviewees SPOs in SPF. Will this be a concern in SPS as well? I have a tattoo around my wrist and one on my forearm but am really keen on joining.
Thanks!
Hi @Ted81free i think this forum was created in 2016 by one of the applicants. You probably got to google for forums relating to other Home Team posts, or if there are really none, to create one yourself. As for the entry rank, I believe the SPF recruitment website has a thorough elaboration so maybe you would like to check that out.
@mavislee yeah that's the same trend that I noticed. I thought the second stage included AD dialogue but it didn't. it is quite disappointing as I have waited for 2 and a half months just for a psychometric test haha. Hopefully they will combine AD dialogue and clinical interview together for the next stage..
@yamihami and @mavislee
Since now there is no AD dialogue, I wonder why they still write "The dialogue session will involve the following". Anyway, hopefully there is no extra stage. Meaning AD dialogue combine w clinical interview or some others, so that total is still 5 stages instead of 6.
@noel.91 yeah I noticed that too. Must be a copy paste template but forgot to remove the dialogue word. I also hope that we don't have an extra stage. Is your test on 24th or 23rd?
Guys, I email the guy with regards to the new recruitment process.
This was his reply "As there is a change in our recruitment process, AD interview component will be removed.
Thus, the 2nd stage will only consist of the psychometric test and verification of documents.
The 3rd stage still remain as Clinical Interview with the psychologist and 4th stage is the panal interview."
Awesome! They removed the AD dialogue component :D
Glad to know that the number of stages is unchanged. Do you guys happen to have any friends who applied between july and nov last year? Wondering if they are still waiting for their clinical interview or panel interview.
@yamihami
That's great news! My session is on 24th May 11am, probably same as @mavislee.
Good luck!
Yes. Mine is also on 24 May 11am. I certainly hope they can speed up the process to preferrably two weeks between the stages. Haha.
Hi everyone. I have created a new thread 'senior police officer intake 2017'. We can update our progress and questions there since this thread is meant for the 2016 intake, which I assume most applicants are already inactive.
heading edited to maintain relevancy since there is already a steady discussion here, regardless of year of intake
@Morrymorrytan so how's ur application gng? I tot of creating 1 for 2017 as well haha, looks like dunnid alr...
Hi all,
I'm currently on my re-appplication which was submitted on 21st March'17, still no news so far. About the change in the application process, does that mean the 1st stage is still SA, but only essay writing? Since now Psychometric test and verification of documents are now pushed to a 2nd stage. Btw, in my previous application the waiting time to SA was about 2 months, but seems like now it's getting longer. Still, all the best to all! :)
Yeah that seems to be the case according to yamihami. Did they reject your previous application because you have yet to graduate? Able to share the questions for the panel interview for your first try?
I applied for the Senior Officer role in Prisons sometime in late Apr.
Saw on the career portal that they kept on extending the deadline for application.
Wonder what that means?
Anyone know if there is a cut-off age for mid-career entrant?
