I am a fresh regular and I got posted to a place where a newbie shouldn't be. I feel very depressed and boxed up in my new working environment and job scope. It is not where I should be when I signed on. I cannot divulge where I am posted to or my current job scope due to confidentiality but I would like to know who can I speak to in order to request to get posted to where a new regular should be? I am seriously depressed even at my first day at work... I cannot focus and I feel that I lost all purpose in life.

The Institute of Mental Health (IMH) is a 2,000-bed acute tertiary psychiatric hospital situated on a 25-hectare campus at Buangkok Green Medical Park. Set amidst serene surroundings, IMH offers a comprehensive range of psychiatric, rehabilitative and counselling services for children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly.
IMH’s tradition of care started in 1928. We were the first mental hospital in Singapore, starting with some 1,000 patients. Since then, many advances have been made in treatment, training, and research. Our treatment integrates evidence-based therapies, supported by the departments of clinical psychology, nursing, occupational therapy, and medical social work, to provide holistic care for our patients. IMH is equipped with modern facilities, with 50 wards for inpatients and seven Specialist Outpatient Clinics.
IMH was the first mental health institution in Asia to receive the Joint Commission International Accreditation in 2005, a highly coveted international accreditation for healthcare organisations.
Over the years, IMH has gained a reputation for quality research. In 2008, the Ministry of Health, Singapore, entrusted IMH with a S$25 million research grant to implement translational and clinical research into the causes of schizophrenia and related psychotic disorders.
IMH also plays a key role in training the next generation of mental health professionals in Singapore. We train psychiatrists and mental health professionals through the NHG-AHPL Residency Programme for psychiatry and through collaborations with the local tertiary institutions.

confidentiality. Things he cannot discuss.
There should be some hotline within the force that allows him to talk to a consuellor. Or maybe he should check with HR...
not what he working as but what the problem is
or he dun even know where the problem is?
Perhaps you can have a talk with your superior first.
Okay basically I signed on as an NPCO(Neighbourhood Police Centre Officer) aka GRF(ground response force) but after 6 months of training everyone got posted to spec(their choice) and various NPCs to do patrolling ie frontline but where I am posted to, I cannot do any of that of a frontline officer... More depressing is my colleagues telling me i cant rly get out once im in...

have u approached ur boss?
I need some help over here, anyone here has the same situation as me whereby you already pass your interview but due to your ippt test therefore they have to drop your application at that point of time. So now I have clear my ippt and if I do apply for it again what are the chances of me getting selected?
@FireIce: I can only approach my boss on the next working day.
@Milihzoah: I do not have nor heard of a situation like yours but I suppose If you have already served your NS, it would be much easier as technically ippt is not a requirement to JOIN but it is a requirement to get at least a pass before you PASS OUT. I am also assuming you are applying for JPO.
Yes i applied for JPO. Thanks @Tmdkiller

I heard that in Singapore, police take life so easy as there is no crime to report. I think police job is one of the best occupation. Regards, Lee
There are some who beg to differ Bmax25, although there are some Police Centres which may appear to be "shaking legs" there are peak and non-peak periods I'd say. But I agree with what you say that it is one of the best occupations in Singapore though! Imagine a Corporal and a higher ranking officer, they are both performing the same duties, but at totally different pay grades! In my opinion they should seriously reward our officers in blue better increments or starting pay...
I am really curious about the appearance of NSFs in the police force. As I am enlisting in October this year, I would like to clarify some of my doubts, so it will be really helpful if anyone who has any knowledge to give me advice pertaining to my doubts. I used to have enlarged earholes, however it has shrank to a size as big as a normal straw diameter. Although my earlobes is not sagging or disfigured in any matter, the hole is pretty obvious especially with direct light on it. Would this affect my future vocation after passing out?
Hi, can anyone here enlighten me, I have applied for the junior police officer, everything went so smoothly from SA to interview. But after I went for medical, one week later I received the rejection email. My pes status is B and my iPpt is silver, the main reason of failing I believe is the blood pressure measuring time due to hypertension mentioned by doctor but I don't have the symptom at all, jus due to nervousness. I have even done a medical checkup outside it shows very health. After failing the application I try reapply but got rejected straight away. Anyone here can enlighten me what is the causes of rejecting when I reapply . ?
