With regards to the VRT test, think about it this way: as a Senior Police Officer you may have to make a really tough decision in a non-clandestine operation, yet for some reasons you weren't able to decide what is the best course of actions to handle the situation. In such a scenario, would you want to make a random decision and hope that it is a right call or would you want to take a step back and seek advice (from your partner/experienced officers/your boss) for directions?
There would never be a correct answer for the situation as mentioned above. The scenario is somewhat similar to your VRT conundrum of 'to shade or not to shade' but at the end of the day, the fact is that their 'desired response' for the VRT segment would always be a mystery to the applicants :p
On a side note, anything could have been done better on hindsight but what matters is that you have completed the test in the best possible way that you could have, on that day :) Therefore, don't fret about it. Like what Singaporeans always says: ' Aiyah what will come will come lah!! Whatever lor!!!" So... CHEERS & ALL THE BEST TO YOU!!!! Y(^o^)Y
thank you for your kind words! and if you are waiting to get to any of the stages, good luck and all th best to you too! (:

I went for the SA on the 14th! but I didn't receive any updates!
@awesomeday @ Theufw
I also went for the SA on 14 Jan .
I see @Theufw @Exvinix.. tomorrow would be the "last" day to give us an update?
hopefully we would get our updates soon! all the best
@AriusW why is it tomorrow last day ?
@hello121: To reapply again have to wait 6 mths later, will see how it goes. I got the rejection email on the 23rd jan, i would guess is my english that kills me. they will filter out those not suitable one first.
to the rest who are waiting for AD all the best, true enough no news means good news. dont quote me on this, i may be wrong.
@AriusW: dont think is their last day to give reply. they mention fastest 1-2 wks, slowest will be 3-4 wks.
@AriusW: is this ur 2nd try for SO application?
hi guys, may i know how long does it take for them to call you up for "first round" (i'm confused with ad sa psych test etc...)
i've applied on 10th jan 2015, but there's been no news since.
on the contrary, i see many of you have attended "1st/2nd/3rd round" already :/
@tigerman: i applied online on the 2nd jan, received email on the 7th jan. u may want to check ur status on career@gov.
SA = Selection Assessment include physc test (round1)
AD = dialogue session with manpower (round2)
@awesomeday
thats really fast. I've checked the application status also, still in process. Hopefully they call me up at least for the first round and not filter my application out straightaway.
i don think I can wait too long, will be jobless soon.

In general, the process to be offered as Senior Police Officer is a lengthly one.
The entire duration from online application to being offered the job and contract signing with vital will take approximately 5-6 months long. This may or may not include time waiting to slot you for the next slot in attachment/ orientation/ C Course. Hence it will even be longer than 6 months.
It is definitely not a speedy process. If you cannot wait too long, you might want to seek for other job alternatives.
The waiting time between each stage may last from 3-6 weeks as SPF always receive high volume of applicants each year. The stages to expect are:
1. Online Application
2. Selection Assessment
3. Dialogue with Asst Dir Manpower
4. Psychologist Clinical Interview
5. Panel Interview
6. Medical
7. Contract signing
If you are confused about the abbrevations used in this thread, it might be useful to refer to past few posts or even read up the thread for 2014/13. You may even get useful tips and advices from past applicants. And thats if you are truely keen on this job.
Good luck!
@Exvinix - just saying.. cos they say 2 wks for thr results to be out.. could be longer though
@awesomeday - yeah 2nd time.. 1st time last year i withdrew appln at the board interview stage..
