Hey Guys
I have just graduated from our local uni and interested to join the police force as a senior police officer. However, one of their recruitment criteria stated on their website is 'normal color vision'. May I ask those who have made it thru the medical screening if they do accept recruits with a high myopia of 800 'degree' w/o color blindness?
Thanks in advance
Hello everyone
New here. Just applied through careers@gov. Wanted to ask anyone know if they accept private degrees? SIMGE - Uni of Buffalo to be specific.
Cheers

I'm sure many of us who had applied for the SPO post hold a private degree, as do I. Have no worries and give it a shot!

hey there, I went for the medical screening with glasses on and they didn't ask about eyesight 'degree'. Just the standard reading test at a distance.
exams just finished. waiting for june for results to submit for processing. the wait is so long....
thks clemmy15, I was initially worried about my eyesight does not meet their requirement...likewise I had just finish my exams but going away for grad trip...think I will make the application when I get back

Hi @mindthegap, indeed the wait is daunting. It took me approx 8 months of arduous journey till the offer call came. Haha!
They started off with the common HR questions, followed by asking my source of motivation to join the force, why do I want to leave my current workforce, I was also given scenarios based questions :)
I guess I just did my utmost best and I felt that I have answered them genuinely.
All the best to you, press on! 

Hello friends,
Currently holding a degree and serving my NS in SPF (ORD June 10th). I understand that SO is only if you've completed your NS but I submitted my application anyway since I figured by the time the process finishes, it'll be long past my ORD date.
I applied on May 12th, anyone applied around then and heard anything? Do we get an email or do we have to keep checking the application status? It's currently at 'Submitted'.
Thanks! :)
Hey emilangry,
I submitted my application on 3rd of May and till date there's no update so do not worry alright. It might take up to 8 weeks to get back to you. I'm not sure how they will contact you.

Thanks guys!
Manpower Dpt/Recruitment Div just emailed me last night but its just to ask me to send in my softcopies of my certs/transcripts/PESstatus/Certificate of Service (NS). I haven't yet ORD'd so I don't have my actual CoS yet so I just emailed him my final grading.
@ed291114 Had you already attached the above documents in your application? (I didn't. So maybe they just needed to see that so they emailed me? :S)
@Mindthegap The first time they emailed you after you submitted your application was the invitation to the SA?
(application status still at 'submitted')
.....................................................
@Mindthegap Ooh I see! Did how long after you submitted your application did they send you the SA invitation?
Manpower just emailed me back saying they've received the documents and they'll further process my application. That's good right? I hope haha.. application status still at 'submitted'
I just got the rejection email 1 week after the panel :( Gotta wait for another 6 months
.....................................................
Emilangry, yup I did and my relevant past work documents as well.
Still no news for me~~~
Coming 5 months since the start of the whole process.
SPF ah. Please faster call me :)

Hi Guys & Gals,
I'm attending the SPO Board Interview this week and would appreciate any advise from those whom have already cleared this stage.
I'm not too sure what to expect and it seems quite intimidating. Appreciate all the help I an get.
Thanks in advance..Cheers !!!
@ Diana91 / @ Mindthegap - PMed you :)
Hi @Vin^K,
I'm scheduled for panel interview this week too! Is yours on the 29th as well?
Hi @cjt,
Yea it is. PM session.
@Mindthegap
I think u r right. It has been 2 months after my med checkup.
erm...may I check if anybody received rejection email after the panel interivew or med checkup? Will SPF notify you if you are rejected?
Hi all,
i am new here. but i would like to ask a question. i am a graduating student from local uni and awaiting for convocation this july. i have applied for SO last year but failed my SA and got the email in late dec (around christmas time) and i was told i can only apply 4-6months after. but out of curosity, my itching fingers went to try to reapply in late jan 2015 and the system actually let my application thru but was rejected in the next few days which could be auto.
so i am wondering, if the waiting time is from the rejection from SA or from the auto-rejection. because if it is from the SA rejection, then this coming june will be my 6th month and i can reapply, if from the auto-rejection, then it will only be 5th month this coming june.
and i have also realised that the career@gov portal has changed and i cannot view my past application. so is it that i can reapply now?
can any seniors enlighten me on this? many many thanks in advance!
