Hi all,
The forum has been really helpful thus far. So I thought maybe I'll just share my timeline. I applied in May and had my psych appointment in early Oct. Am currently waiting for my panel interview. I'm looking at another 2-3 months of waiting. Really hope to be able to articulate my interest in joining the police force during the panel. Good luck to the rest who are applying too! (:
Hi,
So apparently, i applied online (26th Aug 2014) and received an email on the 12th Nov to go for SA ( 19th Nov 2014).
Anybody on this thread going on thr 19th too? :)

Precisely, it's THAT long. Hahaha! No idea myself but I sure was glad that they replied at the very least :)
having went through all the rounds before but only to withdraw because I was offered another job...my advice is that you must be mentally prepared to wait as long as 9-10 months (assuming they decided to offer you). This is definitely stressful especially for those are are going to graduate. Because the question would be: are you willing to hold on and wait if you just graduate?
SPF is aware of this actually. They do try their best to speed up everything. however they do not have enough resource. it was mentioned in my dialogue session e.g. not enough psychologist to interview all candidates who are queuing. that's why spf also encourage all to take up any offered part time/contract jobs for those are really keen.
I applied on the early september and have been waiting since, I am having my cross roads for these past few months, to wait for their reply or proceed to other job. But I keep telling myself, since I have the passion and the wilingness to join the force, this sacrifice is essential. So FIGHTING!!!
I'm a female graduate and last year I withdrew from panel interview to accept my current job. I also faced the same dilemma between accepting my current job or continue to wait for SPF back then, and I accepted my current job partly cos I had been looking for a job for 3 months.
But now I'm applying again and have gone for my medical in early Sept, and still waiting for a reply. It's a very long wait so really important for graduates to get a temp/contract job first.
Here's my timeline for reference:
9th March - applied online
11th April - received email to go for SA on 26th April but postpone due to my shift work
28th May - SA
24th June - manpower dialogue session
22nd July - psychologist interview
15th Aug - panel interview
4th Sept - medical
All the best to everybody still waiting! =)
Any update from applicants who had done their medical in August or September? I'm going to email SPF for an update. Has anyone thought what if SPF reject u now I.e. After waiting for more than half a year? It would definitely sux.
@Toss
Nope, no news yet. My only worry now is Navy offer me before SPF, gonna email SPF if that happen as SPF is my first choice. Do share any update if SPF get back to you, my medical was on early September.
No news as well. The wait is so long................
Seems like currently the recruitment dept havent been conducting any sessions, be it SA, Dialogue, Panel.
So far nothing heard from every body....
Maybe its their "off" period?
But im sure they have lots of backlogs to clear as a result.
@Toss, still same on my end, no news.
@Oooshakalaka, i've actually emailed them, but the reply was that it's still processing.
Thanks for all your replies. Din know so many people monitoring this forum. Ha. Anyway I can only say good luck to all!
Anyone going for SA?
Hi,
I've went for the SA on the 19th Nov and currently still waiting for the email/call for the next interview; Dialogue Session :)
Hi everyone,
Was taking a look around to find out what's the typical process like and found out that everyone's generally going through the same procedure (and the extremely long wait), so I decided to share the details of my applicaton so far.
26 April Application received by SPF (email notification from careers.gov.sg)
28 May SPO Selection Assessment (Round 1)
10 June Dialogue with Assistant Director Manpower - Recruitment (HR interview, Round 2)
21 July Psychologist Interview (Round 3, "No fail stage", was initially scheduled for an earlier date but was overseas)
31 July SPO Board Interview (Panel interview, Round 4)
14 Aug Submission and Verification of Graduation Certificate from NTU (Convocation was in early AUG 2014, this was self-arranged with the recruitment division personnel as they requested us to inform them once we received our graduation certificate)
3 Sept Medical Examination (Round 5)
15 Oct Submitted updated documents - 15 mths CPF transaction history, updates PES status (got a call couple of days earlier to do so)
20 Nov Called SPF recruitment division to check status of application. Was informed that my application is still "In Process". Requested for more specific details but was told that they are unable to disclose this information.
I actually also applied for SCDF senior officer and was shortlisted to go for their medical check up (passed the panel interview), but I decided to pull myself out of the SCDF application and wait for SPF instead. Heard that there's an intake in Dec but I doubt I'll be getting into that intake. Got this info from a guy I met during my Board Interview. He got into the Dec intake.
Hope this information is useful. Cheers! =)
@SeeWhyGee
hi seems like our time line is pretty much the same. do u know when's the actual date for Dec intake? =)
@Capcap 16
Hey, according to my friend, the intake is starting 20+ Dec and he's starting attachment 20+ Nov (some time soon. One of these days). Since we have not gotten any call from SPF, I highly doubt we'll be going in for this intake. :/
fresh graduates, what's the starting pay that you put down? i got rejected recently and wonder if it's because i was too ambitious with my expected pay (i am switching over from my first job, which pays me 3k). i put down 3.8-4k :x
yup, heard that the Dec intake is already full. supposed to commence end-Dec. Now the big question is when will the next intake for 2015 be.

Hi gyeong, sorry to hear that. But i put my expected salary as 3.9k and it is still "In Progress" for more than 1 month

I applied last year, but had a number of delays because of my current work commitments... resulting in a really long interview process. I had my panel last month and received a rejection letter about three weeks after.
