Anyone from CNB? really interested in joining CNB officer

  just wan to check can i apply for CNB officer if i have tattoo? As i have tattoo on my left arm, left chest and right back. And did they accept private diploma from kaplan?

  Q1: I have sent in my application, may I find out the status?

  A1: Shortlisted candidates will be notified to attend an interview with us. If an applicant's background and experience do not match our current needs, his/her resume will be retained for future openings for up to six months.

  Q2: Are there any height and weight requirements for Senior Narcotics Officers and Narcotics Officers?

  A2: We do not stipulate any minimum height and weight requirements for Senior Narcotics Officers/Narcotics Officers. However, candidates must be physically fit and able to meet other entry requirements.

  Q3: What are the requirements on eyesight?

  A3: Applicants must not exceed 800 degrees for each eye and they should not have colour-blindness.

  Q4: If I possess an ITE qualification, am I eligible to apply as a Narcotics Officer?

  A4: Yes, ITE graduates who possess Higher Nitec are eligible to apply for the position of Narcotics Officer.

  Q5: I have served my NS in Police. Do I still need to undergo the basic training if I am selected to be a Narcotics Officer?

  A5: The requirement for re-training will be on a case-by-case basis as training syllabus in the Academy may vary over time.

  Q6: Can I serve my NS with CNB?

  A6: No, applicants must have completed their NS (with MINDEF/Police/SCDF) before applying for a position in the Bureau.

  Q7: Can I join CNB first and switch to a career with the Police later?

  A7: CNB and Singapore Police Force are different services under the Ministry of Home Affairs. We would encourage applicants to be sure of their choice before applying for a career with either service.

  Q8: Will there be training provided and how long is the training?

  A8: Yes, basic training will be provided to all new officers in the Home Team Academy. For Senior Narcotics Officers, the training period is approximately 9 months, whereas Narcotics Officers undergo a 28-week training.

  CNB does not recruit volunteers directly. To find out more about Voluntary Special Constabulary (VSC) attached to CNB, you may wish to log on to the Police website: www.spf.gov.sg or alternatively you can call 62210000

  The way I see it, having tattoo on the body will not stop them from allowing you to join CNB if you are qualified and with a good background. Hell, they might even put you as undercover agent. Good luck.

  yup i have a very clean record..but just worry about my cert.. don't know they will accept private diploma from kaplan.

  Most academic institutions in Singapore are accredited by the government. So is kaplan right?

  Not sure about it..btw thank alot, if tattoo allow in CNB i will be more than happy enough. :)

  There are many undercover police officer at large in the general public...he may look like a gangster....but you may never know that he is a police officer. Good luck on your application. Btw, if you do make it to be a CNB officer, please make sure that you don't endup 'framing' someone without your knowledge and be a conscientious officer ok...he or she could be innocent for the hang noose.

  As I've said before, you have good education with good background...no problem and no worries for SPF or CNB.
