When I was a minor, I punished my brother by making him kneel in the public playground for a few minutes (with the consent of my parents) and the police was brought over.
After a bit of On-The-Spot questioning, the policemen understood the situation and that I was ignorant thus punished my brother in public. However, they still took down my particulars, saying that the incident will be recorded, but nothing will be filed against me or something like that. (So i guess this is a police caution)
So I would like to ask if this would be included in my police record during background checks? And will it affect my enrollment into an university and finding a job?
And is this considered a minor crime?
Please help..
A criminal record is a conviction (found/plead) guilty in a court of law.
There is another type which those detained in Drug rehab centres, criminal law (Section 55) detainees and internal security detainees which are not criminal records but are used police investigations and screenings.
All warnings, written or verbal are not criminal records neither are traffic offences. Similarly all fines of non criminal nature like sumonses, maintenance etc are not criminal records either.
Thanks so much! :)
