Hello fellow citizens. I hope I can get some valuable information from this forum.
I need to know if it is a criminal offense to verbally hurl vulgarities at someone in the public?
Also what can he/she do if they are being verbally abused in public other than filing a police report? Is hurling vulgarities in public grounds for a lawsuit? Can the police charge you if a police report is lodged?
well it's a civil type of case
unless it becomes physical...
If u got money to sue ppl in civil court la...otherwise dun waste time la....><"
i think its a 2k fine if it involves obscenities.
but most people just take it in their stride. unless very jialat kind.
So I suppose it's not a chargeable offense? Are there any references i can look up to with regards to civil lawsuits?

just call 999 and ask them.
they'll point you the direction.
not a crime.
u may logde a police report (but u need evidence/witness)
in case tt person harass u again, u have a case
or else it's just for a record purpose
if u wanna sue, u need to prove tt the "abuse" has caused u either physical or mental discomfort
need a doc's report
for eg, from tt day onwards, u have been unable to conc on work bcos u are thinking of tt matter
when u drive, u cannot focus and longchia bcos u still feel hurt
when cooking, u 4got to turn off the stove and ur house exploded bcos u are still traumatised by the event
Usually not.
Not unless you are somebody important like an opposition MP/labour union rep making vulgar statements about PAP that is reported in the papers.
Then there will be action taken.
if everyone who says FUCK U to another person gets charged just bcos the other person din like it, the mata and courts would be bery bery bery bery fucking busy.
Yeah but if somebody at office say F U in office, the management can take action against the staff because vulgar language is not reflective of the staff's professional behaviour and disruptive to the peace.
tts within the co. own policy and culture.
but probably all the bosses would be asked to leave first.
The receipeint of the verbal abuse can haul u to court just like the Everitt Road case. So telling someone that he is a bastard or a bitch willl get u in trouble if the receipeint press charges.
However, u will only get a fine of a couple thousand dollars for doing that, plus both u and the receipeint will get into the New Paper which is free publicity/advertisement for u. So go ahead.
BUt if there is no recording done, then it is your word against them, so how can u be charged?

I was by myself and the driver is with his family. So I guess the family will be the witness.
I’m just feeling kinda lost now as to what to do next.
a driver hurled obscenities at you over a driving issue?
if thats the case move on. he was probably still fuming after you left. that alone is enough punishment. he 拿气
i got people hurling abuse at me.
who cares?

You think?
I think bosses get to say "F U" to their staff.
But if the staff say "F U" back to their boss, sure get the sack.
this words are common.just don't used them in formal events
