Senior Police Officer Intake 2012

  Hi everyone, Since we are moving into a new year and there hasn't been much information about recent intakes on the other page, I will create a new page for the new year. Anyway, is there anyone that has the selection assessment coming up? I was scheduled for one on the 4th Jan 2012 but I am trying to get it postponed because I am a foreign undergraduate. Hopefully there is one coming up before CNY so I can go back for it and CNY as well. Please share your experiences! Thanks!

  I am currently an undergraduate and I am honestly thinking of joining the police force upon graduatation. Can someone PM me some insights as to what the procedures are and if grades really do matter in terms of selection?

  Hi Ashieee, from what I have been gathering, the procedures are like this 1) Selection Assessment which includes: i) Psychometric Test ii) Physical Assessment iii) Verification of Documents 2) Dialogue Session with the Assistant Director (Manpower) 3) A Psychologist Interview 4) A Panel Interview 5) Medical Checkup 6) Offer Letter I do not know much about whether grades matter but I would think it is more for your pay calculations and determination of your entry rank. I think they depend heavily on the selection assessment and also the activities that you have been heavily involved in to determine your suitability.

  My selection assessment is scheduled on the 4th Jan 2012 too (which is tomorrow!). I'm getting really excited. Anyway, all the best to the people attending tomorrow's assessment!

  just wondering if i have a tattoo which is not visible, can i still sign on? because i am selected for the first rd of assessment pondering whether should i try my luck anot...

  Hi hOnKiEz, I am not 100% sure about tattoos but I think the ones that are big no-nos are obviously those that belong to the gangs. But I think "innocent" tattoos that are done on a part that is not normally visible when u wear PT attire should be alright.

  just wondering if it's innocent tattoo that can be covered up by collar tees?? is it "safe"?

  Hi q-RORRRZ, I think that it should be fine but I am not an authority on this. I never seen anyone with any tattoo before when I was serving my NS there.

  I went for selection assessment on 11 jan. status changed fron in process to shortlisted 3 weeks after assesment.

  to date, no interview with AD yet. i wonder what is happening. =/

  Anyone gone for interview after january selection assesment??

  Mine happened the other way round. I did the AD interview first. I'm now waiting for a selection assessment. Mine was a special case because I made a special trip back from overseas during CNY for it. But I speculate that the reason why you haven't heard anything about the AD interview is that they are waiting for more candidates before they do a mass scheduling for interviews.

  I had my selection assessment on 8Feb and my status changed to shortlisted after 1 wk plus..on 20feb

  Till now have yet to receive any email or sms on details about the dialogue session..

  Prob 3-4? I only heard from the manpower officer that the next intake is in May which I unfortunately will graduate in time for it

  hi samsam22, I'm currently studying overseas. So I have to travel back and fro during my holidays for the interviews which explains why I had my dialogue session before the selection assessment. I'm graduating this coming July though. Anyway regarding the dialogue session, it's basically a 1 to 1 session with a manpower officer. Before it, you will get a briefing about the job scope and what to expect. During the interview, the officer will ask you questions about your motivations to join, what and why are you studying that particular course in uni etc etc. It's probably to gauge your interest in the job and let you ask more questions about the job.

  i have yet to recieve any reply for more then 1 week
  was wondering how long do i need to wait before i give up and try for other career oppotunities?
  and i need to ask any of you who are selected, are all selected applicants from local universities? or scholars?
