I'm sick of my office job every day just fu-cking look at computer and push pens...I'm the type who prefers to be outside doing stuff...
I am interested in any of the HomeTeam Senior Officer positions. (Police, Civil Defence, Narcotics, Immigrations, Prisons)
Any senior officers from police or any other HomeTeam organisations here?
I have a 2nd upper honours from NUS by the way.
Wah, you wanna migrate from a lobo job to an even more lobo job? You sure?
no offence, but if u wanted to be "outside doing stuff" i can tell you signing on as senior officer wouldn't be much of a diff frm ur current job
I going for the selection assessment soon.
I know the psychometric test part, but what is the physical assessment about?
physical assessment:
1. check for tattoo
2. check for any abnormal joints (i am not too sure). cos they will ask you to bend, do some swimming style, do marching.
lastly good luck for your selection assessment! :)
Just wondering would my weight be a factor in the selection?
I have a bodyweight of 95-96kg/BMI of 29+...from serious gymming over the past few years...
erm. for guys, should be based on the PES. i believe if you are fit enough, you will stand a chance to get in ba. for example, a person who is very skinny or average weight, it don't mean that he is fit.
do you pass your PES? cos the basic requirement for guys is PES A or B :)

brudder........you don't ever wanna join the police................trust me on this...............
join SAF lor
Senior officer training is 9 months but heard from my police friend that they usually stretch beyond that, that means can be almost 10 months!
And during your first posting, you will be sent to Investigation Branch where unofficial 24(or more) hours are not uncommon!!! (Though officially, it is still 12 hour shift)
it's more than 24 hours for sure................provided there's no big case...............most of the cases are mickey-mouse bullshit type but the paper work will kill you liao.........
by joining the police, you're joining the most fucked-up uniform group with little to no benefits...........
So which uniformed group is better than SPF?

the question should be which uniform group ISN"T better than the police ?
SAF is the best since the govt is willing to throw money into it.................i think Air Force seems to have the best prospects since the govt seems to be putting them 1st................Navy is 2nd................Army definitely the worst of the 3.........................
but either in the SAF or Police , the way they operate is the same............
you must be good at ''appearing'' to be working hard..................you must be good at ''pushing'' blame to others........................you gotta curry favour with your superiors......................so see if this is the kind of environment you wanna be in.
another thing is even if you save S'pore today and you or your subordinate screwed up tomorrow, they will hang you out to dry........................
if you still want Police-type..........Immigration is the best, job very relaxing and hours quite good...........
Narcotics and Prisons will give you too much chances to get into trouble.................
Do they check for color blindness?
i remember they got check for colour blindness but maybe now they don't care anymore.

This happens also in every other job positions.
beilieve me on this, you don't wanna join the police...............especially since every working day is totally demoralizing.

During the initial phase of training for snr officers in SPF, CNB and ICA do you need to stay in?
Yes. 9 months stay in course for SPF.
